Why You
Should Care

Hi, I'm Lindsey Snow, director of Heads Up Utah, a charitable support group that helps adults and youth overcome phone, screen, social media, online FOMO, and other digital dependencies.

Several years ago my husband Blake wrote a best-selling book called Log Off: How to Stay Connected after Disconnecting. The book succeeds in explaining how each of us can live more creative, fulfilling, and relationship-rich lives when we curb our compulsory (and sometimes addictive) phone habits, which impact half of America.

Heads Up Utah LogoAfter receiving reader letters from all over the world โ€” a dentist from Columbia, an entire book club from Australia, a tech worker from Chicago โ€” Blake and I decided one book wasn't enough. So in 2020 with our good friend and biggest supporter, Nick Wentzel, we started a nonprofit to further this movement of hope and change. Heads Up Utah is the public-facing campaign of that nonprofit, Log Off Institute, a 501(c)(3) charity.

Since then, weโ€™ve studied the negative effects of screen abuse, spoken at local support groups, elementary schools, and businesses, and have published dozens of articles on how to remove screen dependencies from our families, communities, and ourselves. We were awarded a prestigious federal grant for our efforts and self-funded much of the rest.

But we need your help. Encouraging people to stay off technology is an uphill battle. If you agree, will you join us? Here's how:

  1. Subscribe to our newsletter. Doing so helps spread the message so it can reach more people.
  2. Make the pledge. If you believe in what weโ€™re doing, please sign our pledge of 10 daily habits to limit screen abuse.
  3. Donate today. Nonprofits live and die by their fundraising. To help us reach our goal of $35,000 this quarter, will you generously make a tax-free donation on an individual or business basis?

Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. Thank you for considering our cause. We look forward to hearing from you soon. ๐Ÿ™
